I just had to share this quote by Mitsuko Uchida. So hardcore--haha! The kind of person I would be terrified of if she was my teacher!!!! BUT, we all know she is RIGHT!

“I like people who read the score carefully, because without that you can’t go anywhere,” she says. “You can’t just come up and say 'I am inspired’. There is no such thing. If you are inspired, I say 'OK, go and compose.’ If you’re using another composer’s piece of music, at least have the decency to try to decipher what other people, who are a million times greater than you, might have thought.
