nearing the finish line

This is very exciting.  One week of school left.  We are nearing the finish line!
I feel for all you guys that don't get a break like teachers do in the summer...but I think if we didn't get a summer break teaching might take about 35 years off of our life span.

Here's something abnormal, I suspect: I do miss some of my students in the summer.  Think about it--we see these kids every single day for an hour all year long.  For better or worse, you do get a little attached.  A little.  Seriously though...I have been teaching at the same school for three years.  That means I have really seen some of these kids do a lot of growing up.  AWWWWW!!  It's cool!

So...yesterday Bob & I tackled a new concerto...Krommer Op. 91.  BLISS!  Two hours flew by.  Krommer is like candy.  It is just so enjoyable.  We ARE in desperate need of a pianist to complete our lives, though.  It is certainly much more challenging to find a good pianist when you're out of college.  And it was easier when you could pay them in wine and pizza, too.  Ah, the good old days!

After our wonderful rehearsal, we then went to this beautiful place:
It is called Tangletown Gardens--a lovely, lovely nursery that is way too close to my house...

Then it got lovelier.  Yes, the owners opened a cafe across the street from the nursery called "Wise Acres" that features FARM FRESH amazing snacks, bakery goods, coffee drinks, and a bar.

Be still, my heart.

So we enjoyed such a lovely afternoon outside with white wine and amazing snacks.

While at home, the cat continued his heat stroke pose.

And today the radio station seems to be only playing Brahms.

Perfection!

All for now--off to enjoy another beautiful afternoon in the sunshine...covered from head to toe in SPF 500.
